I know that a lot of people use the Oxford heated grips but after taking a browse I see that R&G seem to be suite popular as well. I am thinking of getting some grips and was wondering which way to go, Oxford or R&G ?
Opinions please ............ |

I have Oxford heated grips.
Can't tell you what they are like as the controller was knackered when I bought the bike. However, I have just purchased the new <intelligent> controller which is supposed to have loads of features (not sure how many features you can put onto a hot grips controller). Fitting when I see some daylight. Reference is OFV8 Last edited by Rokerman; 01-11-12 at 01:23 PM. |

What's the maximum "claimed" temperature they get up to?

My Oxford controller packed up too, swapped it for a switch. It gets really quite warm with my gloves, muffs and heated grips.

Had the Oxford ones on my old SV, when they worked they were great but more often than not I had one side luke warm, the other like an inferno.
My Dad's got a set of Daytona ones on his Pan, and they're amazing. |

I have friends who have used HG, and R&G heated grips all have now gone back to Oxfords. I currently use Oxford sports, I am on my third bike and they have all had them with no problem. Yes they are a little more but you get what you pay for.
Oh and I am in no way affiliated with Oxford before someone accuses me of being a sales rep ![]() |

get the Daytona one the rotory controller is simple and reliable, even if after a few years it does play up, you only have the take the back off and clean the terminals, failing that what about an element kit; only £5-6 basic on /off switch and easy to fit over your current grips, come summer you just throw them away.
Cheers Mark.
