My project z750 has a frame painted a sickly shade of metallic green. That will be blown over no problem but the previous owner who perpetrated the frame paint has had enough left over to paint random bolt heads, washers, ancilliary tin work and even the master cylinder cover.
Can anyone recommend a good paint stripper that won't destroy the underlying metalwork? The steel bolts will probably live okay but I'm really concerned about the alloy master cylinder cover. Thanks, Mark |

For small jobs like that brake fluid works quite well as paint stripper.

I've used nitromorse on the sv wheel rims and forks. Found Blackfriars paint remover far better, as its self neutralizing. It didn't hurt either of those items.
If that helps any?

Have also used Nitromors in the past on ally. As long as you neutralise it with plenty of water it was fine. Getting a decent lacquer coat on the casings once I'd polished out the grey crud was a lot harder!
