Default How much oil?

how much oil will my bike need? doing oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs this evening but not sure how much oil to buy, also where is cheapest to buy it all off the shalves?

Some large Tescos have bike oil on their shelves or you could give halfords a go, 2.7l (as long as it's an SV650) with filter change.

If you weren't doing the oil change tonight i would have said have a look on ebay.

They have some decent looking deals on Silkolene Super 4 + K&N oil filter bundle.

Edit: I think the above come in 4L containers so you would have plenty left over for top ups:

Isn't it 2.7L on a full engine rebuild, and 2.4L with just a filter change?

No 2.7 with filter seems about right (filter soaks up a load of oil when new).
Best to fill it up and slowly check it. With a filter its best to part fill it too
