Default Gahh Post Office Problems!

So I wake up this morning, go to tax my bike online but because my policy has just started again for today it said the bike wasnt insured so I couldnt do it online...

When I finished work, nipped down to the post office to tax it with all the documents etc... had the cover note on my phone as the documents were still not sent through at this time, presented them to the lady at the counter and she refuses because she needs a paper copy!

Walk down a couple of shops into a hardware store and asked him if he could recieve a fax which he said he could with his ancient fax machine.

Phoned insurance again to ask them to fax it over... fax takes bloody 15 minutes because of the Sh** machine and because it was two bloody sides I pay £1 for 2 pieces of paper.

Walk back to the post office and being served by another lady at the counter... ' Here's my documents....' ' Sorry you cant use a cover note you need the full policy details that are sent to you' ARE YOU SH**ting me!

Shout across to the women who served me before moaning my head off and she finally comes across and agrees to give me my tax disc!

THIS IS REDICULOUS!

( Sorry for my rant)

To get tax you need, mot, certificate of insurance only! No entire policy. And the tax renewal form

Weird! It even says it on the back of a tax renewal that you just need a certificate of insurance.
I've never had problem when taxing over the last few years

Back in the days of paper, there used to be a difference between a cover note and a certificate.

As more of a hangover than trying to get the smell of "fat bird" off your kitchen table some policies even still have notes to the effect that originals only and not printed copies are valid certificates. This is from companies which issue electronic only documents!

To be fair taking it in on the screen of a mobile phone is taking the p*ss... just print one out...

Some times the post office are brilliant.

My problem for some reason I couldn't tax on line. It couldn't find my insurance on the database. So off to the post office.

The nice chap points out that my certificate is showing my registration with two numbers transposed. He says as he hands over the new disc, best get onto the insurers and get it sorted or your going to get pulled by every ANPR. This was sorted as soon as I got in and a new certificate downloaded.

It's been so long since I had any money I wouldn't know!

I need to find a bank that attaches monetary value to the reciepts that sit where cash used to.
