Exhaust for an SFV (Gladius)?

Hi all, new member from Norway here
I just bought myself a new SFV (Gladius, but i hate the name and im not going to use it very often).
Its a great bike so far, and i like the compact style and how it handles.

Im going to do some needed modifications to it, and wonder if you can help me out.
First thing is the exhaust - the original is NOT good looking, and sound is bad to. Do you guys have any thoughts for a new exhaust? I`ve been looking at Yoshimura cans, and many looks great, but i dont know how they sound.
More and deep sound is what i want. I want my neighbour to hear me when i start it
And maybe change the catalysator to an GP style one..is it worth the money?

Next thing would be to install a rear "fender eliminator", i see there are several out there - but wich one is the best choice?

Ive been thinking about engine mods to, is it possible to squize some extra hp out of it without huge costs?

For the cans, Yoshi will be great, but not cheap. Cheaper options are avaliable eg Fuel, Beowulf, Scorpion. whip out the baffles and your neighbour will hate you .
Best thing to do with the cat is lose it completely, replace it with a bit of straight throuh pipe. Not sure what effect this will have on the fuelling tho, a re-mapped power commander might be necessary.

I've had a look about, there does not seem to be a full system available for the Glad' yet, (if ever).

If you want to get rid of the Catalyst, you'll probably need someone to fabricate some pipe work together with an aftermarket or bespoke silencer.

With regard to the fueling issue/removal of cat', you will need to have the O2 sensor in place, or you will get a "FI" fault.

I had to have my Akrapovic system modified to accept the probe. Even the dynojet O2 sensor-eliminator couldn't fool the ECU.

Once you have a system sorted, you could either get a remap done to your existing ECU or use a Powercommander V.

The bike at the store had a full system - i think it was Leo Vince or something, at least the can. Salesman told me he could order one for me...i`ll ask what the price is, but i dont think it will be cheap.

Do i need to use a powercomander when changing for Yoshi slip on to?

Really? A FULL system? Including pipe-work, not just the end can??

A power commander is optional. I mean, I had my ECU remapped, because at the time, I was sold a PCIII for my K9 SV....

WRONG!!! Didn't work, as the PCV wasn't available then, so due to it not working properly, I removed it and had the ECU remapped instead.

But to be honest, mine ran lovely with standard settings. Just didn't want it running too lean.

MOST after-market end cans say, "no need for remap or fuel alterations" so you should be fine.

Actually, yes, all the way full system. And it looked much cleaner than the original..!

Thanks! I will be looking for different options. I tried to find a dealer for Scorpion, and there was only one listed in Norway - but according to their website it seems they dont sell them anymore.

What would a Scorpion muffler cost at your dealership?

Dont like the colour to much, but bike looks much better than stock.

Hi and welcome, I have a SVF too, the yoshi cans so much better than stock, but don't expect the "wake up the neighbours" bark. the Leo Vince link pipe get some good reviews from some other forums too. for the tail tidy check out the evo-tech ones.

Now i need to decide on the can...thinking of something like this:

If there is a FULL system available, I'd go for that, especially as it does away with the Catalyst!! (Bit more power!!)

Its to damn expensive i think, at least here in Norway - and havent yet found out who makes it.
It could be a better choice to have a friend of mine weld up something totally custom, as he is an expert at building exhaust systems (have built many turbo-engines over the years).
So, until something else comes up, im about to order a Yoshimura TRC slip-on in S/S. It will do for now...
