If none of the more clever people on here pop along soon to offer advice (still hibernating) use the search function at the top of the site and lose a few hours reading HTH

ps i bought my 99 with 36k on the clock and its been good to me so far some on here have gone over 100k and still going strong.

Engine wise, 37k is fine if it's been looked after (service history/receipts). I know a couple of the GM lot have figures in excess of that and don't have any problems at all. Just have a look at all the usual bits and bobs like chain, sprockets, brakes, forks etc.

Welcome btw.

33k on my 2002, going strong. Buy on condition.

At that mileage, it should have had valve clearances checked in a major service at 32k.... you should check that that was done.

The rear shock could be rather lacking in damping if its original, so bounce the rear and see if it returns smoothly or pogos about.

The bike if looked after should be fine, suspension might/will be a little tired but you can work on that yourself, new oil and springs in the front and maybe a little change at the back... But you can take your time over them and it'll let you appreciate the changes more...

Oh and hello from up in Sunny Scotland...

Just stay safe and be happy when your out there what more do you really want
