Default Suggest a magnetic tank bag - SV650SK5.

HI!

After buying my first bike SV650 SK5 I am now looking for a tank bag with straps to use as a back pack. Any body have a magnetic tank bag they can suggest?

Thanks

PAT

Keep an eye out in Lidl/Aldi as they do them for around £20. It's expandable with side pockets, rain cover, shoulder strap as well as a zip off base which turns it into a backpack. Made branded Ultimate Speed.

Get one from Lidl or Aldi, when they have an offer on

I got a Lidl one, can't fault it for the money

I have lidl one. Excellent for the money mine is branded differently to that mentioned above. You could ask an orger to get one and send it up if you cover the cost of the bag and postage.

One point (having used these for years). Magnetic tank bags tend to pick up metallic grit on the underside and then end up scratching the tank. If you have a tank bag with a strap for the headstock as well, make sure if you're not using it that the plastic buckles don't end up trapped under the tank bag for the same reason.

Baglux/Bagster tank bags and covers are the best solution but are pricier by a margin.

Its worth popping a duster under the bag so you can wash the grit away .
The anti slip mats though you'ed think are ideal are just a little too thick.

This.

I filled up yesterday and notices a big scratch under the bag where the magnets are. Oh well.

I stopped using magetic tank bags years ago due to scratches. Have a Bagster setup on the Fixxer which has the added advantage of giving extra grip for your knees without wearing away the (thin) paint in the tank scallops.
