Well they are illegal but most MOT testers pass them providing the beam pattern isn't ridiculous.

It doesn't say that anywhere.

I think they are pretty clearly not MOT-able but one or two test centers don't enforce it.

When I was researching HID's I remember finding some MOT document saying projectors were ok on bikes. Can't find it though. And going by Tom's post you don't need washers or levelling systems for normal HID bulbs. So provided they produce a correct beam pattern they must be legal.

Mine passed with them in. Depends where you take it though.

Hows your high beam? No high beam is a failure and some h4 kids arent very good with high beam.

If not fitted as standard, aftermarket HID's are illegal come MOT time whether fitted in a Car or Motorcycle. If your lights are that dim get some headlight relays, still use the OEM fitted bulbs but allow them to burn brighter without burning the bulbs out or anything

Halogens become hotter than hid bulbs so allowing them to burn even brighter is going to allow them to generate even more heat and potentially melt your headlight (Y)
