Default Alarm removal & the mess. Think twice b4 installing one.

Thats it, ive had enough of it. My alarm gave up yesterday. Neither keyfob would transmit the code & the bike kept arming. New batteries were used & i tried a factory reset. It's time to remove it. Luckily i still have the install manual which tells me exactly what the cables are so it will just be a matter of removing them & re-bridging (hopefully). It looks like very little gap was left in the cuts. 8 years this one lasted for & it was a solalarm (now in admin so no support).

Here's the mess...

Don't judge alarms by Solalarm, they were always cheap and cheerful.

Removing it will be easy.

removing it is easy but circuit 2 is proving difficult. Ive got a black cable coming from the fuse box (ignition) & have no idea where it is supposed to go.

I had the same fun removing the DataTool from my K3. Didn't have the wiring diagram for the alarm, simply traced the alarm wires to the bike loom, used the wiring diagram in the Haynes manula to find what that wire did. Then removed the alarm wires as we found them and repaired the damage the 'engineer' did when installing it.
