Default 33bhp restrictors, will they be worthless soon?

Just out of interest, due to the new licensing and horsepower laws, will 33bhp restrictor kits, either ecu or mechanical aids be worthless?

My wife is getting an sv next week, and Ive sorted a 33bhp ecu, but surely the current high value of them will fall considerably to next to nothing in a year or 2.

I doubt it TBH
I'm sure they're only brining out restriction kits for the Gladius motor that meet the rules

I would imagine the demand would be next no nothing soon. But even at £100 quid or so, it is costing 30p per day over the year, 15p over 2 years to have the SV @33 bhp, if you can't sell it after, hasn't it been worth it anyway?

I'm sure you'd have been looking at £200 - £300 just to get through the test if you were on the new rules anyway! Unless someone figures out how to make the SV650 make precisely 46bhp I'm pretty sure plenty of people will just put up with losing the extra 13bhp they are allowed.

What are the power limits for the bike used for the 44bhp test?

If it's between say 30 and 44, then surely it would be good business for riding schools to use SV's, they can then be used for the full power DAS and the restricted for the 44bhp candidates...or am I missing something (I did just make those numbers up btw)

What happens to people already on the restricted licence when the changes came in, can they now ride a 47HP bike? It would seem lunacy to add yet another classification alongside the existing ones - how many would that make it .. Moped, 125, 33HP, 47HP and unrestricted?

They stay on 33 BHP and in 2 years time, when the last of the restricted licences upgrades, the 33BHP classification will no longer exist.

Is that really the case? My reading was that you'd need to follow the new processes to move up to unrestricted ..

Quote:
If you held a motorbike or moped licence before 19 January 2013 then you’ll keep your existing entitlements and can still ride the same kind of bikes as you did before. However, if you get a new licence your entitlements may be shown differently.
You’ll have to follow the new rules if you want to get higher entitlements - eg ride a larger motorbike.
Also, although the old system allowed you to go to unrestricted after two years, didn't you need to get a new licence to claim that entitlement? What I'm getting at is that there may still be people with the 33HP limit for more than another two years.

If I understand it all that is ..
