Default Which tyres for £140 a pair? Pointy.

Hi guys.
Looking for some good advice.

Need to buy a pair of tyres for my 2006 sv.

I have £140 ish to spend and want to know what you would recommend as this is my first sv.

Dunlop sport max currently fitted but they are too expensive for me to replace with the same ones.

When I was looking for tyres I couldn't find any fitted for that money mate. Best tyres for money I could find was a set of Bridgestone bt021 for 195 fitted. Some places sell maxxis pretty cheap but I know very little about these

this has been covered hundreds of times. Everyone will have a different opinion on one of half a dozen different types of tyre. You are not going to get anything good for £140 apart from seconds. Your looking at about £200 for Maxxis fitted.

Have a chat to your local tyre fitters. That's less money than I'd expect to pay for a set of current tyres. Your options are likely to be older generation items such as metzler z6 or Maxxis Tourmaxx. Not bad tyres at all, just not the current crop. You can get tyres online from eBay or blackcircles or similar sites. If you do that make sure you already know what your local fitters will charge to fit tyres they did not supply. Many dealers charge a fair bit of they have to take the wheels off, fit and balance and dispose of your old rubber, so make sure you're clued up before buying online.

They may also have been hanging about in a warehouse for quite a while and may have deteriorated if not stored properly.

My advice would be save up a bit more...
