Default Drive Chain - Gladius SFV650

Hi Riders

A question I need answering regarding my drive chain, so hopefully someone can help?

My bike has a rated DID 520VM2 drive chain as stock, Suzuki SFV650 Gladius.

I've been thinking of upgrading it to the O-ring type that I hear is a smoother chain and slightly more robust. So my question is this:

Will any 520 O-ring chain be OK to use? Or must it be a 520VM2 type?

Secondly, what are the real advantages of changing?

Tks....Ride Safe

I dont know anything about the Gladis but Id be very surprised if it didnt have a top quality O ring chain as standard.Keep it oiled and adjusted and it will see you fine.

I've got a D.I.D. 520VM2 on my RC-51. It's a top quality chain, very robust.

You can find information on tensile strength and sometimes wear factors on chain manufacturers websites.

The last RK chain I bought wasn't good at all. I heard they changed owners and quality went down. I used to by them all the time, as the best quality for the $ (sorry no Pound key on my keyboard), but might not again.
Anybody else bought an RK within the last couple of years?

Sorry, I'm running an ERV3 on the RC.
I couldn't find the VM2 on D.I.D.'s site, but all the VM series are x-ring chains, and they're all plenty strong for your bike.
