Hi all
I own a DL650 '09 but since my wife have said that she doesn't like to ride on the bike, I want to change it to something more sporty. I have several mods and bike is as i wanted it to be now but I feel that I don't use it to it's full potential.

So I have started looking around and because i love v-twin engine I thought that sv650 might be just the wright thing for me. I am going to test ride one tomorrow at Suzuki crescent in Verwood.

Out of interest, will a 6ft2 14st bloke fit the bike?

What should I be looking out on the bike?

Thanks
Kam

Height can't say, weight no problem! Mine has no difficulty shifting me around and I must be in the region of 15st at least!

Crescent are great, Guy got me sorted on my first sv.

That he is! Although to be honest he didn't really need to "sell" to me lol

I passed my test got home, borrowed my dads car went straight there for a test ride, got back and bought one straight away!

My dad nearly had a heart attack, first thing he knew about me passing was telling him I just bought the bike haha

I'd say stick with what you got. She defo isn't going to want to go on the back of an SV, so that could be a bonus or not?

I'm 6'3 n a bit. I can't fit a 1st generation sv cos the tank edge is right on my knees, But the 2nd is fine.
Not the roomiest but so chuckable!!

keep the v strom. i've had an sv a vstrom thou and now a vstrom 650.
If i'm being brutally honest the vstrom is more useful as an every day bike.

Good point Jackie-Black. Thing is that I ride to and back from work - 12miles all in and sometimes to see friends. On an odd occasion i would take her for a 25mile run around New Forest.
I also have full set of panniers and a top box that can accommodate 2 full face helmets. Panniers were used twice, both time on a trip to Wales. Top box is handy for helmet, so i don't have to carry it with me and some shopping every now and them.
If I decide on sv i will have it with no box at the rear as it would spoil it. That would be my only sacrifice - I think. Shopping could go in the back pack and carrying helmet should not be that problematic, right?
For any few days trips (providing that mrs will allow) I was thinking of using tank bag, soft panniers and back pack. Or am i thinking to positively?
