Chain Adjustment - How Often? - SV650.org

Pointy SV, done 8000 miles, presumably on it's original chain. I've been lubing it every 300 miles or so when back from a ride (Done 1200 miles so far) and just looking at the bike in the car park the chain looks slack. Could be wrong as I'm new to bikes but how much should the chain move up and down?

Also how often are people cleaning their chains and what lubes are people using. I'm off Monday so may spend the day cleaning it properly (got a chain cleaner) and re-lubing.

About 3cm of movement at the slackest part of the chain isnormal.Any more and it needs adjusting.

fit and top up every 4-500 miles and watch your chain last mega miles
i'm on 16k and the chain has not moved off the mark.

. make sure you keep the wheels aligned..
