Default Seat covers, anyone tried these?

They have pointy and curvy ones available in variations of black & ....

I like these for my Curvy but should I risk em, they apparently simply staple over the existing cover.

Get a gel pad inserted when the cover is changed, makes the world of difference

I am actually thinking about getting both seats done by Tony Archer - but what you're suggesting might be a good idea as well...

If it helps I've bought gearstick and hand break gaters from these people and the quality is good.
