Default DRZ400 Wanted

I'm after a DRZ400 if anyone has one or knows of a decent one for sale. Will consider any, but any touring mods particularly useful - tank/screen/pannier rails/etc. Budget up to £2000.
Thanks

Few decent ones on gumtree, couple of the E versions too.

That's over priced for a sk1 IMO, there are newer ones available for similar money.

Thanks guys - will take a look. Agree that for a SK1 it's dear, but it is a starting point and sometimes people take considerably lower offers - one can but ask. Please keep any suggestions coming as I want to leave no stone unturned.

It's an asking price though, he'll come down or it won't sell. I've never paid the price on the tin for a sleeping bag, let alone a motorbike.

How much are these things worth anyway? I'm interested as I think I want one in future too

They vary a great deal. Cheap early ones can be had for around the £1200-£1500 mark. Later ones command £1500 up, with most advertised at around the £2000 mark. SM's tend to be dearest, then the DRZ-E and then the DRZ-S. They are a very good bike if looked after. Buy an E or S, get hold of a larger tank, put a sheepskin on the seat, fit some soft pannier rails and a small screen and you have a bike that with 5 minutes work to change, you can hoon about on the trails and commute, then go on a tour with gear. I've been after a good one that's not over-priced for a long time. I've other bikes so can wait until the right one comes along.

Maybe why they seem to be holding their price well - every bugger wants one! lol

This is the thing. They appear to be absolutely nuts on short twisties and pretty much the only way to have any kind of legal fun. Yet the engines seem to be pretty robust and can handle all types of riding, including the longer touring haul. Am I correct?
