Default Derbi Senda 125SM - de-restrictor?

Hi,

Friend of mine just bought a Derbi Senda 125SM and was just wondering are those restricted in anyway as it is very slow!

If there are where are they as we would like to remove it so he can atleast keep up to 60 70ish lol

Cheers

Mason

As far as I know, unless it's a two-stroke it won't be restricted. Four-stroke 125s naturally sit around the 14bhp legal limit and I expect it would take some serious work to get anything more out of them.

My CG125 would struggle to hit 60 with me on it (at about 15st at the time). All your mate can do is lose weight - or maybe fit some sort of fibreglass tub like you'd get on the Utah salt flats.

What age and is it 2 or 4 stroke?

If its a relatively new 4 stroke it won't be restricted as they are built to that power.

As far as I am aware the only way to theoretically get more speed would be to change the sprockets to favour top end, and maybe a new can and filter but unlikely to get a decent increase in power if any for the cost.

If its an old 2 stroke it may well be restricted and could feasibly be de-restricted.

If it's 4 stroke improving it will be much more expensive than what the bike is worth, and it won't really make a difference.

At least that happened with my cbr 125
