Exclamation new driving liscence clasifications and layout

Had to send liscence off for pic renewal this week , was very surprised when it dropped through the letter box today.
Very happy for three reasons
1 have been issued with a ten year liscence for the first time, no having to change it every 3 years.
2. They have remembered to put on my entitlement to ride 125cc motorcycled snd mopeds.
3. The new layout showing clearly all the classifications you are able to drive, is so much better and clearer as it states the sbility to ride my trike.therefore much clearer if asked by police as there usually not sure especially as I have a restricted liscence.

Few things few have noticed, if you want to tow a horse trailer and you passed your liscence after jan 2013 you will now have to pass your c1+e liscence if its over 3.5 ton, which with two horses in it will be, this would also include most new caravans too
If you pass your motorbike liscence and your under 24 after jan 13, you cant ride a gsxr 750 and restrict it, , due to the kw/kg ratio.and you cant even ride a gsxr 600 restricted, because it has a 77kw engine and the highest you can ride is 70 kw due to its more than double the 35 kw max

It doesn't matter what you've got in the trailer really it goes on the maximum permissable mass off the trailer.

New law/catagerisation says thst if you want to tow over 3.5 ton you need to do c1+e where as before I beleive it was just normal trailer liscence, have done some more googling most normal small trailers would fit under the 3.5 ton but some of the bigger ones which carry larger horses such as carriage horses etc prob wouldnt due dependent on horses etc.
Also it seems that if you get your liscence after jan this year, car liscence if you wanted to ride a trike you need to do your full bike liscence you cant ride on only a car liscence, only people before this date can......therefore im lucky.

hhhmmm i wonder where they have classified such things as 3 wheeled cars e.g. morgans and reliants.

to me all this new licence crap is saying that the government think that the up coming generations are less capable that their predecessors.

Maybe I misinterpret the rule but I thought the 3500kgs referred to the actual vehicle used for towing and the trailer was limited by its dimensions [max 7mts].Every vehicle has a designed max gross weight for vehicle and trailer which must not be exceeded.
In theory you can use a 3000kg vehicle to tow a 4500kg trailer provided it is within the permitted max combined gross wieght
