Question Miss firing on downshift

Hello,

Lately my bike has been miss firing on the downshift. Not all the time but its not rare.

My bike is a '00 650s, no modifications mechanically (at least to my knowledge).

It may just be because I am not concentrating or something but I hear a sort of pop and a sudden loss of throttle but it's only for about half a second.

Any ideas?

Or is it me

Are you sure it's not just the engine popping on the overun?

There's no load on the engine so any unburnt fuel will cause this popping until you open the throttle again

If it was mis firing it would be mis firing on open throttle too.

is it as you release the clutch?
Sounds like overun, as mine sounds like a miss fire between 1st and 2nd if it catches the neutral slightly.

Ahhh that could be it!

Thanks I haven't really heard of overrun that much, it does go away if I open the throttle again it's never done it up the upshift or whilst the gears are engaged.

My blue Evo twin port without the baffles... Pops like a beauty when you shut the throttle, especially in 3rd
