Default Engine support for fork removal?

how long could i use a wooden block under the engine to support the weight whilst forks are removed?

would it cause any issues or stresses??

No it'll be fine. I use a trolley jack which you have to watch as they can sag over time. Wooden block should be fine tho.

ive used a wooden block and a bottle jack + centre stand, and it seemed fairly stable on my cb.

Forgot to mention I use a rear paddock stand too. Makes it very stable.
