So what you're really saying is O2 SUX.
Because openzone is just part of the "FON" community. |

Anyone with a Btinternet account ought to be able to help you out as can a lot of others, Can't remember the list of companies that have gone in with Fon but I'm sure you can find it online somewhere.
EDIT: actually I think if I remember correctly there's a dropdown menu on the access page if you find a fonspot which lists most of them. Last edited by Spank86; 31-07-13 at 02:58 PM. |

O2 and their crappy data plans suck. Switch to 3 and never worry about how much you are using again

BT openzone / fon whatever its called does suck because it blocks ports and so prevents using it for communicating with home

Ha! Oddly enough that's exactly what I'm doing ATM. We spend a lot of time in Suffolk and the 3G coverage is carp with O2. Can't use my smartphone for toffee but my ipad which has a 3 SIM card works like a dream. I'll be saving five or six quid a month and getting unlimited data.

Well when I was on my travels and staying in loads of hotels and b&bs, often they'd be with BT. Sometimes they'd just not give me the access key, and quite often that'd actually charge for access to WIFI! Bit BTOpenZone/FON I would often connect for free, hassle free (as the same credentials are stored and used), and I found it really useful. I also used it to connect to my neighbours WIFI when mine was down. So personally, I think it's great. It's one of the few redeeming features of the ludicrous cost.
