Default It finally happened

Some silly Bint drove into me yesterday while I rode across Bristol!

Oh yes, a woman in a hurry to get her children from school changed lanes in her Honda 4x4 next to me and collided with the rear end of my bike, pushing me into an empty space in a taxi rank. Luckily traffic was moving slowly (hence her impatience) and so I got away with a scratch to my exhaust and bruises to my right leg where it got pinned between her car and my bike.

My biggest fear has always been a collision with another vehicle and now that it has happened, I don't feel quite so afraid of it anymore. I was taken to B.R.I. to be checked out because of leg and lower back pain from pulled muscles, but was released late last night and told to take it easy.

So today I need to check the bike out and make sure that there is no more damage. Then I need to see what I can do about my exhaust because it still has paint transfer from her car on it! As for her car, I left her front bumper hanging off and I am most glad it was a pretend 4x4 and not real off roader which would have hurt a lot more!

So why was I in Bristol you may ask? My Step son had his theory test yesterday and forgot his driving license. An hour before his test, I got a message asking me to drop it off for him, so I ended up sprinting over to Bristol where I sat around for an hour and a half while he passed the test. The accident happened just after we said good bye and I was heading home and he was heading off to somewhere else. Always the way, I got hurt doing a good deed... Lesson learned, be more of a *&%$ !!!

Sorry Jayne, this reads like you didn't go down. (not like you)

So you are not yet a proper biker.

Glad you're mostly okay, 4x4's should be only for sale to farmers and those that really need them and not for picking up kids grrr. Get Carol to peel and feed you grapes till you feel better GWS hugs xGx

Glad you're OK Jayne - take it the off-road mum stopped at the scene and was insured? Glad you managed to get some revenge in re the front bumper.

Riding to work every day on busy motorways/dual carriageways quickly taught me to never sit alongside vehicles in other lanes if I can help it - either sit behind them or swiftly get past them. Not saying you could have done anything differently though - that's not always practical in heavy traffic.
