Default bloody intefeering women, leave my stuff alone.

I have just gone to do my monthly expenses. My receipts have disappeared. The wife binned them at the weekend, collected Tuesday. Over £500 worth.

No receipt, no claim. And she says it is my fault for leaving them out.

Yes more than a tad annoyed.

I'm not sure "a tad annoyed" would describe the way I would be feeling.

But it is well established that you are a gracious man! I admire your.....calmness.....although I'm checking BBC Yorkshire front page for updates

Ha, I'm with your wife (not literally, that's another post ) if they were important you should have put them somewhere that they wouldn't have been 'tidied away'!
Still, feel your pain, £500. That's a bummer!

can you lets say, fabricate a receipt for "entertainment" to roughly the value of your loss?

or have a subcontractor invoice for that amount over and stick it in your skyrocket?

the construction industry... not bent at all

Get in touch with your local MP and get some advice on fiddling expenses from a pro!
Feck the £500, you'll have a second home, two jags and a secretary by the time he's through with you.

Serously though, Ouch!

Its the reason they're in a lock draw at the office

£500... get a resteraunt to do you one for £550.88 and put it on business entertainment (doing the Reps job)

That is the reason I used to keep my business ones years ago away from the family. For some unknown reason many women seem to think that receipts need to be binned immediately as clutter. You would think that they would not seeing that they always appear to be returning clothing. I had a daughter that threw away a 3 year year warranty without thinking.

Talked to the boss. I can identify fuel (the major element) on my bank statement as I pay for it by card.

Each journey through the toll is known. So whilst they will baulk about no receipts so cannot recover the vat hopefully I should be able to get back the vast majority.

I have a receipts app on my phone Tim, basically takes a photo of any receipts I get.

Saves me hassle, as I attach it electronically to my electronic claim, then if my claim is audited, I don't have to fax the receipt off.

Was a free app.
