Default Christmas tree stand

It's that time of year again....

I have a high ceiling in my living room so require a tree about 7 1/2 feet tall.
I have a tree stand but it's not heavy enough to ensure that the tree can withstand anything other than a fly landing on it. Can anyone recommend a stand that will fully support a tall tree?

The stand I currently have is this one, but I'm wondering about this, with possibly a couple of bricks added for extra weight.

Thanks

Make one. I built a simple table from odds and sods of offcuts lying about in the garage. Bung some pre-made legs from a hardware store to it that come off for easy storage in the loft, sling a cloth over the top so nobody knows how rubbish your joinery might be, and job jobbed. You can make it the exact height you want it that way.

If an accountant like me can do it most people can.

Last year we had a 7ft tree and bought this...

it wasen't from that store but looks exactly the same and no issue at all. plenty of room for water which stopped the needles dropping.

We always had big trees when I was young. We had a stand which was essentially a screw and four legs. just screw it into the bottom (hehe bottom) though you can't water it. Always been pretty stable.

Can't seem to find a picture of one even, I think we got ours from a tree seller for fiver.

Thanks Tom. Can you remember how wide those legs are?

Screwing bottoms and asking how wide the legs are and chucking a cloth over it If it's no looker, you lot always have to lower the tone don't you.
