Default Which 1000cc supersports bike and why?

I have to admit to being a bit of a fanboy for all of the 1000cc supersports bikes, but if I was to buy one, I would have no idea which I'd go for (Obviously in reality you'd get a test ride and see what suited you the most).

But: Here are the bikes you can pick from, average prices included

Suzuki GSXR 1000 L4 £9,495
Honda CBR 1000 £10,250 (not SP)
Yamaha R1 £10,750
Kawasaki ZX10R £11,950

The other bikes (BMW, Ducati etc) have all been excluded on grounds of cost

blade or R1 for me.. ninja's seem to have a nob stigma attached to them (apologies to any ninja owners on here) and GSX-R's are ten a penny.

R1 hands down if I could afford it.

I have a pet hatred for kwaks and the gixxer and blade don't really do it for me

I have to admit the blade comes over as a tad soulless. Yes it does everything, but seems to take away the edge.

Which one do you like the look of? At this point the class is pretty well developed so none of them are going to be bad, they've all spent the last 10 years being road-tested against each other.

It must be said, the CBR having ABS would be a consideration for me, having dropped a bike locking the front once or twice in my life, it'd be nice to have, especially in iffy conditions.

I'll PM you my address, let me know when the delivery date should be and I'll make sure someone's there to sign for it...

I have ridden a S1000RR so if money was not an issue i'd have one of them in the garage

I used to own a K8 GSXR which I managed to snap in half after a low speed crash so I doubt i'd buy a GSXR again.

but my new bike will probably a 09/10 Blade. I have ridden one and IMO is hard to beat on the road.

The BMW looks great, but to be honest I couldn't justify the extra money - nor the wonky styling.

The Blade was my top, although a GSXR is the bike that got me into bikes (albeit a long time ago!)

The Yamaha was my favourite for years, but it's starting to look a bit chunky.

Certainly for me, my main consideration is fit - although I doubt they are that different. Being 6ft 4, I want something at least slightly comfy

Its down to test rides for ya. I like the styling on the kwak.

I may be the only one but I just don't see the point in a litre sportsbike on the road. I struggle to use the street to its potential and would get bored not being able to use an engine fully on a 1000.
