Default Exhaust branches dull and grimmy - how to get shine back?

Hi all,

The exhaust branches coming from engine that go down and wrap under the frame, from all the riding etc...the chrome shine is completely gone. Besides taking off the whole system and sending to get redone...any DIY options to get the pipes back to their original shine?

Metal polish and lots of elbow grease. Someone will pop along in a mo and list the best polish to use. It took me ages but well worth it.

Optiglanz or Autosol for Stainless.

+1 for Optiglanz. This will clean it up nice. You can use Autosol to keep it shiny.

If it is really bad to start with use a fine grade wet and dry - 600, and lube with GT85 or wd40.

Then use autosol or similar to get a good shine.

A mirror to check it underneath to see how its looking. I had my exhaust off to rebuild the engine and did it then.
