Does anyone know a ballpark figure for a respray on a fully faired bike?

About £600 depending on the state of the panels and the tanks

Not too bad. Now that I've started stripping everything off the bike I'm really tempted to swap some of the standard stuff with after market things like grips, indies, screen, levers etc.
For the respray I was thinking about getting it sprayed similar to this... ![]() |

I've decided against a respray. I'm still going to get the odd thing here and there painted along with the wheels but cost of a full respray is too much.
I think the cheapest option for me would be aftermarket fairings in a different colour but I'm not sure on the quality of them, especially for the price. |

it's a bike you ride it. they only look good for so long. spend the money where it matters and thats the upkeep and servicing. stick the cash you would spend on tat in a jar then when you need parts raid the jar.
i stick £20 a week in a jar for tyres and service parts so it's not a big hit on the wallet when time comes. |

wish I could get away with that, that's less than my daily fuel cost, the only good thing about being broken at the moment is the fact I'm saving fuel money.
As to the original question, if it's nothing too fancy (mainly a single colour or big blocks) and you do all the prep work yourself (including any repairs); leaving only the spraying to do, you should be able to find a car shop to blow them over for a couple of hundred £'s, the last time I got it done (about ten years back) it cost me £80 at a local accident repair centre and that included lacquering in the decals I supplied.

As I said the re-spray is something I'm no longer looking at doing. I was only looking at a re-spray as my current fairings have loads of stone chips, there a bit of the nose cone where the lacquer has peeled off and the paint on the wheels is flaking leaving bare metal.
I may still get the wheels done but the fairings will cost too much. It's a shame as one of the previous owners had stuck stickers all over the fairings but also looks like they're lacquered over them as I can't feel any edge to the stickers. For any who may be interested. This is the seller of the aftermarket fairings I was looking at. http://stores.ebay.com/parts4bike Last edited by Dunn-y; 15-03-14 at 01:58 PM. |
