Default Recommendations please

This past year has been very hectic with leaving the RAF after 22 years and moving house, decorating etc etc etc.

Having now more or less got everything sorted with my family getting settled it's time to plan ahead and I hope to out some decent miles on my bike this year.

My bike has been parked up for almost a year and before I rack up the miles I want to get it serviced. I'm not just on about an oil change and a basic service, I want the bike thoroughly checked over before I use it.

I am looking for any recommendations for places to get this done. I was going to go to Cupar bikes but I've been told of a few "bad experiences" by friends so I am a bit dubious in using them.

I always believe that personal recommendations are the best so if anyone knows and can recommend somewhere , preferably in the east coast then please let me know.

Thanks folks.

LANCE take it to Lance.

I know that Combat always take the Busa to Cupar. He's never complained about them.

I've been using Alford Garage in Kirkcaldy lately. Met Gordon on Scottish Bikers. He's sound, not necessarily the cheapest but won't rip you off.

Carelesschucca I am only going on what friends here have said about Cupar.

Can't ask lance. Only time I seem to contact him is for help and I know he's got a lot on anyway.

someone called... lol

i gave your bike a thorough going over the last time and i don't think you have done many miles since. don't waste your money on a service that it does not need.

as long as it's been kept dry all it will need is a fuel flush and maybe an oil dump as i know the brakes will be sound as is the carb balance etc.etc

yes i can come up and give it a going over to make sure it's up to standard. that's not a problem and besides it's been faaaaarrrr to long since i've seen you

i always recommend Cupar as i have never had a bad experience with them. the usual people that moan are those that have either a bike that is pure pizz and expect miracles or they want something for nothing but like all garages you pays your money you take your chance.

out of all the garages in Fife i would only recommend Alford and Cupar but as you know i do most of the stuff myself and when i cant be arzed it goes to Cupar.

i use Alford for my MOT's as Gordon is very strict.

so how does this Sunday sound?

Surely he's not that strict if he passes your bike with HIDs?

Interesting. I use ECS for exactly the opposite reason. Rev, beep, flash, passed.

When I want somebody to be strict with me I go in a whole different direction...

he said there was nowt he could do about it as the beam pattern was perfect. besides being a biker himself he knows how important bright lights, loud exhausts and loud horns are

no probs, just coffee will do i'm fat enough

i'll come up and have a look first. as long as it's been started periodically and there is fresh fuel then i suspect all will be fine and dandy. the problems start when the fuel turns to jelly in the carbs.
