Default New Chain Needed?

Took a couple of photos of my chain to post up to find out if its in need of a change. I lube and clean every 300 miles but when it is not being used for more than 3 days, the chain ends up looking like this:

Bad? Change? Or Got a little longer yet?

Its fine, just rub it back and check the links for stiffness. Then use a degreaser until its back to dry (unrusted) metal. Then oil/lubricate and all will be well.

+1 for tight links. Surface rust is fine no bother just clean & lube it

Stiffness = change the chain?

Sent using a device that allows me to coalesce my thoughts with radio frequency waves and transmit them over long distances.

not always. my chain looks like that after winter and its usually got a few tight spots. i just clean it up and grease it, turn the scotty up a little more and go for a nice long run. seems to sort mine out for the past few years.

Mine had 3 tight links, as bibs said clean, lube, adjust chain if needed go for a ride and that's sorted out my chain for a bit longer. Over lube the chain, let it dry and you might find it's ok. If the chain had stretched too far it might be time for a change

If the chain has stretched, lost its seals or doesn't move properly it needs to be replaced, if none of those are true, it doesn't.
If you want it to stop going rusty on the surface - stop cleaning it.
