Default Front cylinder not working

Hello forum,

Recently while coming from IOM me and my dad stopped on a service station and slowed down and the bike stalled. I couldn't get it started again. After inspecting, it would start with huge amounts of throttle applied but it ran on one cylinder. Back one only. I did nothing, waited 30 minutes and started again- it would work fine above 4k RPM but below it would work on only one and stall. After riding the motorway again the problem disappeared. My question is- what the hell happened? It has been a day since this and it works fine. There is definitely no water in the front cylinder and the spark plugs are fine- changed 3k miles ago. I just don't want to be caught out somewhere.

I had a plug fail on me last year that had only done 2k miles. So don't rule out the plug.

Was it wet at the time?

I know you've said there was no water in the plug but this has been a well documented issue on the sv for some time so it would be well worth ruling out.

I wonder what bike it is?

Not an unreasonable question, eh?

I think we can assume it's an SV. I'm guessing a pointy.

Pointy from 2006, I will try to rule out the suggested faults.

I had this minus the one cylinder once it was started. It happened on one day only after it had been parked up for a couple of months and it was very cold that morning. Never got to the bottom of the issue but it resolved itself after a clean tank of fuel and it had done a complete warm up - cool down cycle.
