Default Servicing?

Hi guy was just wondering if anyone could give me a rundown of what i should do during a service. I know to do the spark plus the oil+filter, Air filter is going to be replaced. Anything else i should do or check whilst im at it.

(Before i get shouted at i did do a search of 'servicing' but nothing or relevance came up)

Thanks Guys.

Spark plugs won't need doing unless it's a particularly major service. All I do on mine is oil and filter routinely (K&N air filter), everything else gets done on a need to basis, ie: if it not running smoothly I'll start looking at plugs, valve clearance etc. I do appreciate not everybody may have an ear for such things and prevention is better than cure etc etc, and if goes without saying that you should be checking chain, brake pads, tyres etc on an almost daily/weekly basis. Giving the bike a good clean regularly not only helps with this but helps you spot anything that is loose, chafing or otherwise not as it should be.

Maybe more of a regular thing than oil, but a full strip clean and relube of the chain. Clean brake discs too, and take the callipers apart and copper grease them.
And if you're replacing the air filter, buy a K&N air filter if you already weren't going to, great improvement and you'll save your money back before you know it.
Perhaps changing brake fluids too.

every service basic service (3500 miles), oil & filter & sump plug washer, check brake pads, check tyres, check chain and sprockets, check rear linkages and swing arm for excessive play, check front and rear wheels for bearing play, check forks for leaking, check headstock bearings, check exhaust clamps, grease footpeg linkages and brake/gear pivots, grease front brake and clutch lever pivots, visual check for fraying and feel of clutch and throttle cables for smoothness.

every second service i add (7000 miles)(this fall for me at around end of season), strip and service front and rear brake callipers, replace oil in forks.

every fourth service i add (14000), clean and oil K&N filter, replace spark plugs, send shock away to be serviced, check throttle bodies for balance and TPS for position.

every 6th service i add (21000) check valve clearance (i send my bike away during the winter to get this done as my local suzuki dealer does half price labour)

extras include every 4 years replace coolant (i have long life so your mileage may vary)

every pre ride i check scottoiler for oil and tyres for pressure but i only get out on sundays so your mileage may vary.

Id do oil/filters then look at age related stuff.Change coolant/brake fluid/fork oil.Plus a general check over to ensure everything is where it should be and done up properly.

Oh and someone said brakes/copper grease.Dont let copper grease anywhere near the rubbers/seals on the calipers as it desroys them.
