I'll give you a kidney for it? You can choose the donor too

I brought a GSXR front end with a special one off spindle made, but those fork adapters are the way to go.

I was always worried about knackering my special spindle, and I fubarred the thread once. Using the standard spindle, wheels & speedo drive are the way to go.

To find the right coloured GSXR wheel with a legal tyre, in decent condition, is pretty slim or just extremely expensive so I went for the spindle adapter. I didn't want to mess around with magnets and hall affect sensors, better to try and kept most of it running as standard. The special spindle sounds interesting, would be nice to see a pic and see what has been done.

That's why your solution was good, no messing about with magnets

Here's a link to my album with the spindle.

My original front end was the L or M USD GSXR 750, but mines now got the latter K4 front end now.

Just out of interest how much did the spindle adapters cost?

Now then now then (I'm not Jimmy Saville)

Will this slot right into an SV1000 front end?

It looks like it was a decent job, I wouldn't have any issues with using it, looks solid enough, It was £150 total, that was for 2 adapters and some editing of the fork bottoms.

The forks would be a straight swap on to an sv1000, all gsxr forks from 2001- 2009 are, not sure about earlier or late ones. These forks are modified to run the sv650 wheel now so would need a 2mm washer for the sv1000/gsxr wheel.

,

It was a good job, just the thread at the tip of the spindle wasn't chamferd, so it didn't centre itself in the otherside & because it was a fine thread, it was easy to cross thread or gaul. So with a one off spindle I worried about buggering it up

Good price I think. My one off spindle and other bits wasn't much more than that a couple of years ago. But with the right equipment, it can't be a difficult job to machine

i had a look at doing the exact same conversion ages ago and decided not to go ahead due to problems with the disc bolts not having a big enough shoulder on them. how did you get around the problem.

I'm not sure what problems you encountered? The shoulder was too short?

I didn't have any issues, the guy at F1 Moto was left with my forks, wheel, spindle and discs. He added the spacers and that's how I got it back.
