Talking Sony Experia Z3 Compact

Looking to replace my ancient Galaxy S2, had it for a couple of years and fancy a change. Refuse to do the Apple option, so the other option is going to a Sony.

All current phones - S5 etc are huge and way to big to carry around in trouser pocket, so fancy a smaller phone like a S5 mini or Z3 Compact. I also like the fact the Sony phones are waterproof, save killing it when you put it in the wrong pocket when out on the bike and get caught by the rain.

Anybody got a Z3 or Compact, or recent Sony Z phones ? Are you happy with it ? Expierence of Experia and Samsung Galaxy to compare ?????

Thank you in advance of any replies

I got the S5, after having an S2, at first I thought it would feel like carrying an iPad but actually it's not that huge and now when I occasionally use Stu's S2 that feels tiny. It's got great battery life, excellent screen, waterproof, and you can buy a case that makes it drop proof without adding to the bulk (well I've dropped mine 4ft several times so far without damage).

I've got the M2 (music non waterproof version) and I like the Xperia's. This is the second xperia off the belt.

Screens brilliant, audio perfect, 4G (I'm powsch), the only gripe I've had is with the last android OS update (good chance the Z3 hasn't been affected) pulling a couple of problems from the Galaxy's and HTC's
The next android (5 lollipop) update for Sony's is meant to fix any issue with the 2014 range

Got the original Xperia Z. The later ones are a bit bigger so it's probably somewhere between the Z3 and the compact in size.

It's a good phone. I use it as bike satnav as well. Occasionally Google and Sony have a clash where things don't work properly or your battery drains away in hours, but I don't think this affects the later models, and it's rare.

I'll be getting a Z3 when my contract renews.

I've the Z1 compact. I converted to Sony because of the abysmal quality I had with my last HTC phone.
Pegasus has always had Sony, and persuaded my choice. He then got a Z1, as my compact was a bit small keyboard wise for his gorilla sized hands.

I doubt you would be disappointed.

I bought this Z1 last December on kaivalagi recommendations.
Used as a phone. Web browser sat nave, music device. Camera, video.
And it's got a magnificent charge port so can charge it and keep it waterproof at the same time

I purchased a Z3 for myself and a z3 compact for her indoors. I've booted my z3 up and change the simo to a nano sim and by god it's miles better than my s3. If you use google apps a lot, camera and play about it's great. The reviews i read on the s5 vs z3 from gsm arena said go for the z3.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Sony-...t-look_id60093

And the s5 mini is a s3 in a different guise but the z3 compact is a compact version of the z3 with slightly less tech spec.

I was lucky and used tesco double discount weekend and the two cost me £707. I'd go with a Sony now i'm converted from Samsung and it reminded me tech loyalty just costs you money and doesn't give you best tech for cost value.
