Hi John,
I can understand the bar conversion, I did it myself but I think you're the first I've heard wanting to do something with the rear brake. Do you have an issue with it? |

YorkieChris put a Ducati Brembo rear caliper on his curvy. Not a straight swap. Custom spacer and some swingarm drilling needed IIRC.

Welcome to the Org new person, knowing what model you have will help others offer their tips and advice.
I converted my S model K3 to a set of Renthals some time ago and you can read my thread on it here. However I am about to swap to a USD front end from an R1 with custom modified SRAD yokes thanks to the help from the wonderful Org and as a result will have will have my K3/K4 hybrid set up for sale eventually. If you decide to drill your top yoke before you then bolt on some risers, try using some good shaped load supporting spacers underneath because the S model top yoke is a little thinner than the N model which has extra thickness and shaped bolt holes to avoid stress rising cracks under hard use. My new SRAD yokes have had this done to them by mad scientist/engineer Mr YC ready for my risers. There are some here who will tell you that a drilled yoke is a bad idea and that you should buy a custom yoke, but despite the bling quality of the item I am not sure that it is entirely necessary. One thing to watch out for is clearance on the fairing with raised bars. I used lay back risers and find that I have no clearance issues, but the weight shift has made wheelies a real possibility even for little old me! ![]() |
