That's me just finished my 5 minute job swapping the stock screen with a Tech 7 iridium one. It only took me about 2 hours!
The biggest pain was the 4 rubber grommets as it was nigh on impossible on getting them out. I used a combination of long nosed pliers and a thin screwdriver, and when you try to put them back in, they are so tight that you end up pushing them all the way through and have to take the screen and dash cover off to get to it. Is there an easy way to do this or is it one of those fiddly jobs? |

You leave the bolt screwed in a little and pull/push the bolt rather than the rubber bit

Putting it back in you screw the bolt in a couple of threads, put the allen key in it, then give the allen key and sharp bump and the rubber bit will pop in. Easy peasy

Just spit on the rubber, it'll slip in easy then!

Even easier method, pop rubber gromiits into boiled water for a couple of minutes, they heat up and go back to their original shape, much easier to slide in the hole

That's a good tip if it works. If it does work you'll need to change your name to cleverblonde

It does work, I've done it twice on two different screens, on two different SVs.
Never underestimate the power of blonde cleverness....lol ![]()
