Default ZZR 1200- Anyone own one?

Hi everyone,

I just bought a 2004 ZZR 1200 for a bit of touring. Im starting to regret the decision, Im living abroad so I havnt even sat on the bike yet. I got a mate to do the deal for me. I bought it for the purpose of a 2 week tour of Europe this year. The last few days regret has started to creep in, Im currently riding a K6 750 and my concern is it might be too powerful to have fun on. The trip is over 5,000kms with a mix of twisties and mile munching days. Im starting to think I should have bought a VFR.

Has anyone got any experience with these?

Cheers,

Colm.

Hi
Had the previous examples.
It's a easy bike to live with.
Still one of Sarah's favourite pillion perch bikes.
Enjoy ( Me,little bit envious. You betcha)!

Orphic. I think he means petrol consumption.

I've had a ZRX 1200 for 12 years now which is pretty much the same engine. Just passed the 70K mark with no problems. If you can live with the more sporty riding position it will make an excellent tourer.

I didn't say exactly but pretty much.

Both of those power figures are hugely optimistic BTW. Mine stock was giving 108 RWHP it's now at close on 140. That's without the ZZR cams & pistons. With these it would be close to a genuine 155 RWHP.

I probably didnt phrase that properly, my concern is I wont be able to thrash it around as much as the Gixxer and wondering if the step up is a bit too much?

Cheers for the reply, the sport riding position isn't a concern to me really, thats if the reach isn't to much of a stretch.
