I think that this is Tayna batteries own brand name. Never used the Powerline battery but they appear to have good reviews on their site. I have bought from Tayna car batteries with no issues. I have used cheap AGM, Varta and Yuasa batteries. (For the latter look on ebay at MDS as they do astonishingly good deals on the YTX12-BS. They used to give discount for orgers, but don't know if they still do.) I have a cheap battery that has outlasted the Varta that only lasted about 14 months when one cell failed, and I still use that cheap battery to swap with the Yuasa when required. Tayna cannot compete with others for Yuasa probably as they sell so many others, but they did tell me a couple of years ago that the Powerline AGM was a very good battery, but did not want to discuss a Yuasa comparison. From memory the Powerline had good cold cranking abilities.

Is it the same spec battery your bike needs?

If you have a Halfords trade card you can get a decent discount on a Yuasa battery for you SV. That's what I have in mine now, I even took one back after it discharged (that's how I found out my RR was knadgered) and they exchanged it no issues.

I hope it's not my RR, just replaced it. I think that was the reason my battery is toast

get yourself a Motobatt, I got one from here:http://www.stuff4bikes.co.uk/index.a...motobatt+sv650 a few years ago and it was the best battery that I've ever bought.
read many reviews before committing to purchase, the slightly larger version does also have the capacity to start a pickup truck (go look for the reviews). It's an AGM battery and will even fit a trumpet if you need it to in the future.

Chances are the RR death has caused the battery to die due to poor charging in the past.

Even brand-new batteries must be charged after filling from new and before fitting, stick it on a charger quick if you have one and that will get the voltage up.

If you've got an old-school basic trickle charger that's fine too, just charge it until the voltage across the terminals while charging reads 14.1V, then disconnect the charger. Sealed batteries start producing gas above if charged above about 14.1V for more than a minute or two, which is bad for the battery.

Craig, put the battery on charge after 1 min, while it was charging it was reading 15+ on the multi so off came the charger.
