Default Carol Nash Charges:

How can insurance companies justify their charges? Did a mid-term adjustment on my policy, no costs from Aviva but Carol Nash charged me £40! Their paperwork says it is discretionary but apparently they charge everybody £40.

Mine quoted £50 for any mid term changes, its a business, its how they make money. Some decide to charge, others don't.

If they can get away with it, they will charge, and its the same for any admin charges.

Royal Mails charge for handling import tax & vat on international parcels is another rip off

Its the free market enconomy

MCN wanted to charge me £40 plus a policy increase of £26 on my 125 when I notified them of passing my Mod2. Reason for an increase was because I could ride more powerful bikes. I said 'but you are insuring me on a 125!'

When I changed from my RSVR to the SV Bennetts wanted to charge something, I forget what it was but it seemed disproportionate so I threatened to leave unless it was dropped. Took 10 mins and being stroppy to get the charges waived.
