I got knocked off my SV just before xmas & have just finished repairing it and now its back on the road again, love it
![]() Fixed it up myself & fitted some of the levers from 'the2wheels' - seem great so far & also fitted some DanMoto adjustable rearsets, these are also good quality and make the gear changes much nicer, more precise. Had the wheels powder coated white, a Fabbri screen & fitted some Motografix number boards front/back. If you dont have any R&G bungs fitted, well worth the investment - without them the bike would have been in much worse a state. The bike slid along the road around 40mph and the rear wheel met with a traffic island. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

That looks superb, great work and more satisfying to have done it yourself.
Do the lowers need much more support than just the R&G holders? I.e. is the OEM lower fairing fitting kit so important after you put the sliders on? |

Thanks - it was a good way of learning how to do things myself such as chain & sprockets, taking rear wheel off/on, things like that I've always paid someone to do as I use the bike every day for work & needed it done asap but when the SV was off the road I bought a mates CBR 600 off him so could take my time with it.
The lowers do need a fitting kit, theres brackets near the sump and also on the radiator - at the bottom its just platic clips. You could probably make brackets up, their nothing special or intricate. |
