Default Broken gear shift lever

My mate dropped my bike today while checking out a puncture, so I'm after a replacement gear lever.
I've got a 2004 pointy and wondered if anyone had tried the Z10 lever, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Z10-Suzuki-...=suzuki+sv650s
as I noticed it says about checking that the K4 has the correct diameter hole for this lever

Cheers

I can't comment on the hole size but be aware it will cheese grater your boots and ruin the leather.

I had a no name one in the same style on mine for a few months and was looking to go back to the OEM one just before my mate reversed into me and knocked me and the bike over snapping the lever at which point I replaced it with the original style.

The 2004 had a different size spindle shaft size to the 2003 and if my memory serves me right it changed again in either 2005 or 2006. If you look up the microfiche on the various bikes, say at Ron Ayers or Alpha Ssports they will give you an idea from the part numbers. Also look on Ebay for after-market ones, which is where I bought mine for the 2003 model several years ago. They frequently state what bikes they fit and sometimes the size of the shaft.

The toe peg snapped on mine and I got my nice neighbour to drill and thread it. Screw a ss bolt in and rivet the back side with the OEM rubber re-used. That was 3 years ago, tougher than it started out. He is a bit of an engineering superstar mind!

It's a bit of both, the peg is broken but being held together by the rubber grommet, and the lever part looks a bit out of shape too, once I get the replacement one I plan on drilling this one and tapping it as a spare, so hopefully I'll have a couple of them lurking about!

thanks, I'll have a look at Ron Ayers and see if I can spot the difference

Great shout - the gear selector lever and associated parts on the K4 have the same part numbers as on the K5/k6/k7, so I'm happy that the lever I've ordered will fit - thanks!
