Default Maxton Rear Shock for Curvy 1999-2002

I have for sale a Maxton rear shock for curvy 1999-2002.It is in excellent condition bar has a few stone chips on the spring (they are prone to that because they are so close to the swing arm that small stones get momentarily trapped) and the scratches on the underside of the remote reservoir (which you can't see when mounted). The scratches occurred when the reservoir came loose from its mount and fell onto the drive chain - this is why it went in to Maxton for a new hose and had a full service whilst it was there. I learnt my lesson the hard way and have use a secondary cable tie since, just in case, but of course it has never fallen off since.

It is fully adjustable, including length, and is currently set up for my 13 stone weight (without riding gear). Everything in the photo is included, i.e. mounting bracket, retaining clip and C-spanner.
£350 + postage
PM me if you have any questions.

Might seem expensive on the outset, but people need to consider the MASSIVE quality difference between the work of art that Maxton put out and the utter dog**** that Hagon produce. If I had a curvy, I'd buy this in a heartbeat. GLWTS

Thanks for the thumbs up for Maxton quality in my opinion its on a par with Ohlins but it doesn't have quite the same following - perhaps a little down on the shiny bling factor. They supply a lot, including top names like Ryan Farquhar, to Irish road racers. My sentiments are with you on the Hagon too - I have one on my commuter bike and the combined compression / rebound adjustment just isn't balanced right. At least the build quality is slightly better than it used to be.

It's better than Ohlins. Ohlins, in the VAST majority of cases, is off the shelf solutions, rather than bike specific, bespoke creations (their top end gear tends to be). This is why you rarely find their forks on TT bikes, it tends to be K-tech and co.

You might be able to get it setup for your bike.

Would the linkages and spring rate etc be relevant for a SV1000? Especially as this is coming off a curby. Unless it was plug and play then it wouldn't be worth the effort to me.

Nope.
They are progressive on curves.
So it's a fairly good rebuild.
Still ask Maxton e-mail won't cost you much to enquire.

Plenty of r£ room for a rebuild and the right spring for your weight
