Default Proper introduction

Hi all. I've been on the periphery of the forums for a few weeks and made a few posts but I thought I'd do a proper 'hello' and a bit of an intro.

My name is Ben and I'm a new rider. Went for zero to 11 since June this year. Initially ride a HMC Classic 125 and then got introduced to the SV650 by a mat rand have never looked back.

I'm a member of the NABD as I don't have proper fingers on my left hand. As such I ride a modified bike and thought you might like to see some pics.

This is my lovely beast. An '04 pointy with 22k on the clock and in fairly decent nick. I added the Delkevic exhaust last weekend and it sounds great. I also put on the tail tidy and plan to overhaul the brakes soon (Goodridge lines on order).

In order to be able to operate the clutch I have a dual lever setup on the right and the throttle is on the left.

Feel free to ask any questions about the setup and I'm happy to help anyone that's looking for advice on anything similar. I'm learning a lot just by reading the posts on this site and will reciprocate where I can.

Hope to see you on the road!

Ben

That's a neat looking setup, is that commercially available or home made? I did one for a lad with only one arm years ago, everything on the left if I remember, but it was a bit more agricultural than that. Took a bit of getting used to as well but he got on fine with it.
Good luck and welcome.

Lol, I'll try to sort the image sizes. Did this on the mobile so may price too much for me... Any advice welcome.

And thanks

The lever is available to buy from Kliktronic for about £900. However if you're a member of the NABD you can apply for a grant to have one of them for free.

A mate and I installed this setup, which required making custom length throttle cables for the reversed throttle lever. Also the clutch cable runs under the throttle body at the moment but I'll be installing a longer cable to de-clutter it all.

Welcome, always nice to have a new face about here.

Great work on the bike, those levers look really nice.
