seriously... these questions are like how long is a piece of string.

the best one is the second one... ermm i go to the toilet. its the same as anyone else and you soil yourself....

how long does it take to complete this activity (go to the toilet)...... piece of string time.

its not just the toilet needs either there is one that has almost identical questions about washing and bathing. in fact its pretty much the same script all the way through.

problems you have when you cant do this activity (wash and bathe)... ermm you get dirty and smell.

who writes these things..



btw the claim is not for me its for the wife.

Don't get me started on PIP. The whole thing does my bloody head in. They make some crazy decisions

lets put this in perspective here.. my wife suffered a brain/subarachnoid haemorrhage (severe stroke) 10 years ago to which they had to remove some brain tissue due to this it left her with paralysis of her left hand side limbs, dysplasia and hypersensitivity so i have to do pretty much everything for her when it comes to day to day activities such as cook, bathe, dress etc.etc. simple tasks get her confused and she cant read or write properly

am i going to have fun filling out this form... ooohhh yes

now dont get me wrong.. i'm very humbled that i am fortunate enough to stay in a country/society that has free health care and means to help people support themselves and i will always be indebted as such.

I have not had to fill one of these, but when the wife was undergoing cancer treatment we did fill in a disability living allowance form which was horrendous. 40 odd pages asking the same questions in half a dozen ways. And then they sent her a requirement to attend for an interview which she was dreading. Just before said appointment we get a letter to say. Oh I see you are having post operative cancer treatment. We do not need to interview you.

I appreciate the system is designed to weed out bogus claims. But it is the genuine claimants that suffer by bureaucracy. Many claimants locally have be aided by a chap who works for the benefits agency so knows the score. He is blind and therefore understands some of the problems disabled have. He chats with them to know there problems and then interprets the questions and guides how they should reply.
