Talking Help with measurements please

Morning all,

Weirdish request but if someone has a tape meausre nearby could they check the widest part of the bike (handlebars id presume) as i need to see if a pointy sv would fit through a normal external door

Would be much appreciated as there is so far none locally for me to go look at.

Cheers

You're asking a group of men to go and measure their pride and joy... It's about this time that 6 inches become a foot.

I haven't measured the Street but I know its bars are wider than the SV, I also know that it fits through doors. GM Loch Ness proved that.

72cm including the bar end weights. Mirrors are wider at 78cm but presume you'll fold them back. Make sure your door opens fully and measure the gap with the door open, depending on the hinging the gap may be narrower by the thickness of the door, or it might not open far enough to keep the door handle clear. I found that out when halfway though with a piece of furniture, and had to remove the door handle to get clear.

Quite often house external doors will simply lift off their hinges giving you a few extra inches to play with, ooh-err matron!
