Default Absolute rear wheel alignment

Hi all, just a quick question.... I've been adjusting the rear wheel alignment and chain on my curvy sv650s and wanted to know if the measurements can be made from either side of the wheel rim to the inside of the swingarm for ultimate accuracy (looks to be around a couple of inches ... ish) ..or is the swingarm not equal shapes on each side as some other swingarms are?

Measure to the centre of the swingarm to the centre of the axle. You can get it fairly accurate that way.

Yeah already did the alignment, also... the chain teeth run dead central in the chain links through a complete wheel revolution, just wanted to know for sure if the arms on both sides of the swingarm are set at exactly the same angle! If so .... the wheel rim on both sides should be an equal distance from the inside of the arms!??

Sounds like you are there then. I always road test it - ride along at say 30mph, close the throttle, let go of the bars. You'll need to do it a few times. If it wanders consistently to one side then that side is too far back, try adjusting the other side back half a turn of the chain tensioner. Needs to be a flat road of course of the camber will take it anyway.

I never found the gap between sides of the wheel and inside of the swingarm to be equal when I'd lined up the wheel axle to swingarm spindle.

Yeah ... pretty much what I was thinking, it looks (by eye) to be unequal both sides so probably is in reality.
Thanks for confirmation though.
