What's in a 12,000bhp top fuel dragster
An interesting watch here: 2024 NHRA Top Fuel champion Clay Millican talks in detail about his 12,000bhp, nitro-methane fuelled dragster, and it shows in-vehicle footage of a run, too.
These things aren't 'cars' as such, but the engineering and detail is fascinating and he's a very engaging speaker. Fun fact: during a run, the dragster's 500 cubic inch supercharged engine is doing 31.5 yards per US gallon, or 56 gallons per mile  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgSGFG6WE3A |

I've been to Santa Pod a few times to watch the european finals. The noise and tummy melting vibes from those top fuel cars is amazing. Totally ridiculous, but amazing.

The engineering is, as you say, mind blowing. Getting the balance between light weight and strength, considering the extreme stresses, would give even gifted mechanics sleepless nights!
