I thought maybe try and drill it out ? any other *useful* suggestions... Really could do without bike off the road ![]() |

is there enough space in there to cut it with a hack saw allowing you to get a flat headed screwdriver in there ?

Drill the mother and get a stud remover kit to it.
I'm sure it will come out in a jiff. You may need to put some heat on it though - do any of your neighbours have oxy-acetylene? |

there is no end to the bolt, its just the threaded part thats stuck in.... also as i'll need another bolt, I guess by the 4 on the end its an m4 bolt... any idea on length ? and how am i ever gonna get the bit out ? don't want it floating around inside ? not very diy orientated if you hadn't noticed ![]() ![]() |

Sorry to hear this Ian and I've not got a lot of advice but feel sure you'll get the anser from either Mr Squid or Rictus.
However, I'm dumfounded how it could have sheared as it's not on there that tightly. ![]() . |

Sorry to hear of your probs, try using a dremel with a cut off disc to cut a slot for a screw driver. this way you eliminate the risk of getting swarf inthe sump. Wear goggles as these discs are very fragile.

Did you turn it the wrong way?
Anyhow, I can sympathise with you as I did a similar thing, see my thread for the details - http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.ph...805&highlight= In the end I removed the part and took it to an engineering shop in Bushey who got the shank out no bother. Your situation is a bit trickier as you'd need to get the engine out but it's your only option if like me you don't trust yourself not to make it worse. Alternative is to get a man in... |
