Default What's this all about then ??

I asked John to set up this forum so we could discuss/arrange what we are actually going to do. So, after last years wonderful experience in France we're off to Europe again, this time at the end of May.

Depart:- Friday 28th May (Possible late night Thursday sailing)
Return:- Tuesday 1st June
Base Town:- Colmar
Hotel:- TBA

The plan is to reach Colmar on day 1 - some 600 plus Kilometres from Calais (hence the possible night ferry) and make camp in a hotel. From there we can split into groups, allowing those who want to hit the mountains to do so, and those who prefer a calmer pace of life to do their own thing.

More info to follow

Can we get an list of countries we might visit? I need one as early as possible so I can start begging said countries for a visa. France was particularly nasty last time if I remember correctly, so I will start on that one soon.

I'd be very surprised if was more than France, Germany and Switzerland. Italy would appear to be too far for the short period that we'll be there.

Bonjour mes amis!

Hey, this sounds like great fun! What's the likely bottom line cost going to be? I'm very tempted!

If you are british you just need to show up with your passport and you will be ok. However I am brazilian, I need to jump all sorts of hops (or had to last time, my mum actually helped out doing the leg work ) in order to get a visa. And since my old passport, which has the french visa, has expired I have to get a new one, OH JOY!

And greg, please edit that post so that the formating of the page is messed up, I keep having to scrollllllll, cheers.

Raf (and for anybody else that may also be in his predicament)

I expect us to enter France, Germany Switzerland & Italy (well that's the target anyway)

For those interested, we may also do a "weekender" to Belgium France & Luxembourg at some stage too. Possibly either at Easter as a warm up to this or in September when we've all come back from the summer hols...
