I just bought my girlfriend her first bike, a 2000 SV650. Well to put it mildly she hates the whole street fighter look and wants the SV650s look (how ungrateful can you get). Is it possible and not too much of a pain the in the butt to attach the SV650s front fairing AND headlight. I figured the fairing is not the problem but rather would the plug for the SV650 plug right into the SV650s headlight? Thanks for the input/advice.

the frame front has the holes for the fairing bracket but you'll have to fork out for the parts which wont be cheap.

I think you'll have to mess about to get the headlight connected, but I think other than that, you will just need the fairing cradle, then the main fairing, the under fairing and the inner bit.
Should all be available on eBay. |

It would be ***much*** cheaper and easier to find an aftermarket fairing. There's several dual-sport setups with the lights integrated that don't necessary look streetfighter-ish.
Here's a few I have bookmarked. Maybe the Polysport? They're cheap enough too. http://www.kevinscycleracing.com/plastic.htm |

To make a Nekkid into a proper S, you will need the following
Fairing bracket and 2 bolts - Rubber mounting grommets with metal spacers for light unit and clocks Set of clocks and clock surround The front loom from an S. 2 parts, one for the clocks, the other for the light and indicators Left, right and center fairing pannels and brackets and fixings Screen and fixings Mirrors and fixings Pannels to go inside fairing behind mirrors Indicators Front sidelight Headlight unit and bulbs Top yoke and clip ons Brake fluid resivouir 's' Levers and mountings and to finish, a 45 rear sprocket and 108 link chain. Now, personaly, either get a new girlfriend, sell the nekkid and buy my S, Or give me the girlfriend and keep the bike....or you can just fit a Simpson Detour fairing. |

Depending on the colour/age and mileage of the bike we could do a swap as I'm lookin to make my a sv650s naked..
Mines done 26k a 2001, and is blue (dark blue not the light one) with a mark on the right hand fairing pannel. Or its a weekends work swapping the parts over. Though I will keep all my aftermarket extras. |
