Default Stalling problem

Guys, Just a quick question. I have an 04 model SV650 s and on two occasions it has stalled for no reason when I have been moving slowly around idle engine power. Anyone else had this problem?

I had this problem on my 00 it turned out to be a mixture of idle to low and clutch not adjusted correctly.

Mine used to do the same.
Check your idle speed - adjust it so it's running at 1,200+, more if its got something that has a high electrical drain such as heated grips.

cheers

Although mine is the carbed model upping the idle speed completely cured the problem. The numpty of a dealer reckoned 1000 revs was about right but is in fact IMHO dangerous as it led to the bike stalling for no reason and me nearly binning it on a couple of occasions in heavy traffic.

It's now adjusted slightly higher than the manual states but I find 14-1500 rpm is perfect.

Maybe wise to raise it higher initially and then see if this cures the problem. If it does then lower it in sensible increments till you're happy with it.

Mine was adjusted to 1500 by the shop - they said this was a good setting for a V-Twin (as they are a ducati shop I'll beleive them!)

I have had the same problem..(sv650s k4), when coming up to a stop street for instance, downshifting using a bit of engine braking and the bike just cuts out dead as if one had hit the kill switch. Happened about 3 times in two months...

Mine was the same when new and I did as Greg recommended, turn up your tickover to 1400/1500rpm and take one or two turns off your clutch adjuster Completely different bike Only takes 2 mins
